It's Peter Lorre's birthday
So go watch M, Casablanca, The Man Who Knew Too Much, The Maltese Falcon, The Comedy Of Terrors, Crime and Punishment, Island of Doomed Men, The Boogie Man Will Get You, 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea, The Beast With Five Fingers and Mad Love.  But stay away from his Mr. Moto movies. I didn’t like them.

Two New Things
Well, one-and-a-half, but who’s counting? I am. And I’m very self conscious about it. The Silent Rage walkthrough is done. Read it here. It’s over-long and complicated, very unlike the movie itself.  And the sequel to Katy Perry’s Film School, Katy Perry’s Summer School. If you liked the first one, you’ll like this one. It’s only natural.

Music Video Film School: "Mr. Saxobeat" by... →
“During this time, we also see the aftermath of the entire “Alexandra is arrested” storyline where Alexandra and her friends dance in some alley, dressed in police attire. This is a weird scene though, as usually, during a song, the dancers will at least make an attempt to either a) dance to the beat of the music or b) choreograph their moves in some sort of unison. These girls do neither of...

Things Fail
I hate it when people post that picture of the old couple with the “back in my day, we tried to fix relationships instead of ending them” quote as if it was some magical formula to prove why their grandparents exist.  It’s dumb. I assure you, when your grandparents were your age, they had their decent share of relationships that went shitty too. Has our society changed when it...

"Finishing Things Isn't My Strong Point"
says a writer, who struggles to finish things, as if finishing things easily is some special talent that only a few people have. Finishing things is difficult for everyone, but having a plan makes it easier. I know that a lot of writers have this “I let my characters move at their own rate and I don’t force them in any direction and the plot unfolds at its own pace” but I...

Prometheus
The more I think about this movie, the more I dislike it. It’s not a bad film. It’s just that everything in it is so poorly defined. And not poorly defined in the sense that “Oh, it’s supposed to make you think” but poorly defined as in “This seems cool, but why am I supposed to give a shit about it?”  The action/horror sequences were extremely intense...

Don't Blame Disney →
“And don’t start with “women should just accept men for who they are.” Because if you’re the type of person who thinks that all the hot women are not talking to you because they like Disney movies, your type of person sucks. Do you also blame Jurassic Park as the reason that a cow can sometimes break through a fence? Do you hate 2001: A Space Odyssey because of all those babies who think...

Music Video Film School: "Don't Go Near The Water"... →
“The girl and her boyfriend, in a ruthless display of raw, youthful sexuality, sniff honeysuckle by the fence, directly in front of the girl’s parents, hinting that, later, the young couple’s loins will indeed connect. The scene then literally shatters, as we are transported beside the river again to Sammy, who seems to grow more excited at the prospect of teenagers getting it on...

Music Video Film School: "Back In Time" by Pitbull →
“Agent J then sits down to take a closer look at one of these Pitbull videos, hinting that it is indeed the first of the two possibilities. Pitbull’s album title has become a self-fulfilling prophecy. This is no longer the earth that we know. We now live on Planet Pit.”
